It’s finally time to 100x your mechanical engineering.
I’m thrilled to announce Autonomous Mechanical Design by bananaz. It is live, in production, and already running at Fortune 50 companies.
The First Agentic CAD Interface
Autonomous Mechanical Design introduces a first-of-its-kind agentic CAD interface. It takes your design requirements, company standards, and engineering constraints, and builds an executable plan with you before a single feature is modeled.
From there, bananaz executes iteratively, directly within your existing CAD software, working with real, editable CAD features rather than dumb solids or meshes. It applies engineering reasoning to every step and generates your production artifacts along the way, including inspection reports, redline documents, MBD, and tolerance stack-ups. Everything stays in sync with your PDM, and every change is validated automatically against your requirements and standards, with you in control.
Work that took weeks now takes hours.
Why This Was Not Possible Before
Software engineering got its AI moment years ago, and code now gets written, reviewed, tested, and deployed with AI involved at every step. Mechanical engineering has been watching from the sidelines, not because engineers were slow to adopt, but because the work is fundamentally different. When AI writes bad code you catch it in review or patch it after, but when AI gets a drawing wrong the part gets manufactured, assembled, and shipped. The cost of being wrong is not a commit, it is tooling, scrap, and weeks of schedule.
Getting models to read engineering files was never the hard part. Understanding a design means knowing what it is, while validation means knowing whether it is right. A dimension can be technically valid and completely wrong for the application, a tolerance can pass the published standard and still fail on your supplier’s machines, and a note can be perfectly formatted while contradicting the SOP your company has run on for years.
Knowing the difference is judgment, and judgment has always lived with senior engineers. Encoding that judgment into a system took us years, and it is what makes autonomous execution something you can trust in production.
The Autonomous Design Loop
Once an agent can reliably determine whether engineering work is correct, automation stops being a risk and starts being an advantage. Autonomous Mechanical Design runs as a continuous loop of five stages inside the CAD and PDM systems your team already uses.
Plan
The agent takes in the scope of work, the constraints, the applicable standards, and the history of what came before, so it knows which revision it is working from and what rules the design has to satisfy. By moving context and checklists upstream, the work comes out right on the first iteration.
Analyze
Your files get read natively, not as flattened PDFs or images but as actual CAD geometry, embedded metadata, BOMs, and version history. The agent sees what changed between revisions, what carries forward, and what every callout means in context.
Execute
The work gets done, with changes made directly in the native CAD. These are not suggestions for a human to implement but completed output, built with real, editable features, ready for the next stage.
Validate
Every output is validated against industry standards, your company’s SOPs and drafting rules, and the design rules your team has defined, so the result is not just technically correct but right for your company and your application.
Release
Approved work moves through the approval process your team already runs, with the same states, transitions, and approvers, staying in sync in both directions while your PDM remains the single source of truth.
Then it starts again.
Built for the Enterprise from Day One
bananaz is a highly secure, enterprise-grade, production-ready, SOC 2 certified solution that brings this entire workflow into your organization, from requirements to validated CAD models, drawings, and product documentation updates.
It runs inside the CAD and PDM environment your engineers already work in, enforcing the standards your company already runs on, with no new platform to learn, nothing to migrate, and no second system to maintain.
Engineers Become System Architects
With bananaz, engineers become system architects, directing AI agents to research, generate CAD models and drawings, and verify results. They do not lose control, they lose the work that never needed them in the first place: the manual drawing reviews, the revision comparisons, the redline markups and inspection pages, the checking and rechecking of things that should have been verified automatically the first time.
The judgment your engineers spent decades building gets spent on the decisions that actually require it. That is not a smaller role for the mechanical engineer. It is a bigger, more powerful one.
You can now ship products faster, multiply your engineering capacity, and see value from day one.
Mechanical engineering just entered its agentic era.
