Automated Release Artifacts: From First Article Inspection to Redline Reports in Minutes

Releasing a design to production is never just the design. Every release drags a trail of documentation behind it: ballooned drawings, first article inspection reports, redline comparisons, change summaries, and whatever else your quality system or your customer requires before a part can ship.

bananaz reads the native 2D drawing, identifies every dimension, tolerance, and callout, and balloons the sheet automatically. Each balloon maps to a row in the inspection sheet with its nominal value and tolerances already extracted, so quality gets a characteristic list that matches the drawing exactly instead of a manually transcribed one where a digit can go wrong.

Because the extraction comes from the drawing data rather than someone re-typing it, the inspection sheet and the drawing cannot drift apart. When the drawing moves to a new revision, the balloons and the inspection sheet update with it. 

First Article Inspection Packages

bananaz generates the complete FAI package directly from the drawings. The characteristic accountability is already done because bananaz captured every dimension at ballooning, and a multi-day preparation project becomes a single export.

Redline Reports and Change Documentation

When a design changes, bananaz compares the revisions and produces the redline automatically. Because the comparison runs on the native drawing and model data, it catches every modification, including the ones that pixel comparison misses and the ones a tired reviewer skims past on sheet four. The output is a clean, human-readable change report that shows what changed, where, and between which revisions.

This is the same change analysis that powers design review, applied to the release itself. The ECO documentation, the change summary for a customer or supplier, and the internal record all come from one source.

Because bananaz syncs with your PDM, every artifact is generated against the correct released revision. The ballooned PDF, the inspection sheet, the FAI forms, and the redline all reference the same validated design at the same workflow state, which means the release package holds together as a single consistent record instead of a folder of documents assembled at different times from different files.
